Cormatin

With its moat, this castle, built in the 17th century, impresses with the monumentality of its facades. It contains a feat of engineering, a 21-meter-high open staircase, the oldest and largest of its kind.

The apartments, with their lavishly painted, carved, and gilded panels, offer a wonderful insight into the decorative arts of the era of Marie de Medici. Furniture, paintings, tapestries, and period objects take you back in time.
